The genome sequence of small restharrow, Ononis reclinata L. (Fabales: Fabaceae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly of the tetraploid Ononis reclinata (small restharrow; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Fabales; Fabaceae). The two assemblies, designated haplotype 1 and haplotype 2, have total lengths of 1,196.22 megabases and 1,136.64 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.81%) was scaffolded into 30 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequences have lengths of 124.19 and 194.81 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 124.34 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
