The genome sequence of Polypogon viridis (Gouan Breistr., 1966) (Poales: Poaceae) [version 1; peer review: awaiting peer review]

We present a genome assembly of Polypogon viridis (Water Bent; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Poales; Poaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 2,853.30 megabases and 2,840.25 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.69%) is scaffolded into 14 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 610.72 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 136.65 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
