The genome sequence of common field-speedwell, Veronica persica Poir. (Lamiales: Plantaginaceae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly of Veronica persica (common field-speedwell; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Lamiales; Plantaginaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 627.59 megabases and 594.95 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (98.56%) was scaffolded into 14 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome assembly has a length of 314.76 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 150.2 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
