The genome sequence of the Corn Spurrey, Spergula arvensis L. (Caryophyllales: Caryophyllaceae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly of Spergula arvensis (Corn Spurrey; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Caryophyllales; Caryophyllaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 348.07 megabases and 343.86 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (98.35%) was scaffolded into nine chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome assembly has a length of 337.06 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 152.7 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
