The genome sequence of Nepal Persicaria, Persicaria nepalensis (Meisn.) H.Gross (Caryophyllales: Polygonaceae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly of Persicaria nepalensis (Nepal Persicaria; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Caryophyllales; Polygonaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 1,630.37 megabases and 1,651.41 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (98.97%) was scaffolded into 24 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequences have lengths of 210.35, 46.73, 44.25, 49.71 and 47.3 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 157.87 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
