The genome sequence of western eyebright, Euphrasia tetraquetra (Bréb.) Arrond. (Lamiales: Orobanchaceae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly of the tetraploid Euphrasia tetraquetra (western eyebright; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Lamiales; Orobanchaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 951.36 megabases and 903.62 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.2%) was scaffolded into 22 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequences have lengths of 168.08 and 232.62 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 144.86 kilobases. Gene annotation of the haplotype 1 assembly by Ensembl identified 49,393 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
