The genome sequence of the Ragwort Root-borer, Epiblema costipunctana (Haworth, 1811) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly from an individual male Epiblema costipunctana (Ragwort Root-borer; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Tortricidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 896.91 megabases and 903.83 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.74%) was scaffolded into 18 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.29 kilobases. Gene annotation of the haplotype 1 assembly by Ensembl identified 14,023 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
