We present a genome assembly of Bellardia viscosa (yellow bartsia; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Lamiales; Orobanchaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 1,176.56 megabases and 1,160.58 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (98.38%) was scaffolded into 24 chromosomal pseudomolecules, consistent with tetraploidy (2n = 4x = 48). Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequences have lengths of 466.67 and 75.31 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 152.66 kilobases. Gene annotation of the haplotype 1 assembly by Ensembl identified 44,806 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
