A global AI boom is underway, driving expectations of massive value creation and productivity gains, with the app industry firmly at the centre of that momentum. Revenues from these apps reached $18.5 billion in 2025, according to the AI App Report, an 180 percent increase on the previous year. That’s a phenomenal amount of growth, and we estimate that it will continue to grow at a fast rate with a compound annual growth rate of 31.1 percent from 2026 to 2030. AI app revenues 2022 to 2025 ($bn) Chatbots make up most of this revenue and ChatGPT is the behemoth in the industry, contributing to 66 percent of the total revenues in 2025.
