The genome sequence of American Willowherb, Epilobium ciliatum Raf. (Myrtales: Onagraceae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly of Epilobium ciliatum (American Willowherb; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Myrtales; Onagraceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 274.88 megabases and 262.95 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (97.25%) was scaffolded into 18 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome assembly has a length of 426.41 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 160.91 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
