The genome sequence of fen bedstraw, Galium uliginosum L., 1753 (Gentianales: Rubiaceae) [version 1; peer review: awaiting peer review]

We present a genome assembly of Galium uliginosum (Fen Bedstraw; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Gentianales; Rubiaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 528.28 megabases and 529.59 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (97.84%) is scaffolded into 11 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 189.05 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 153.42 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly by Ensembl identified 25,045 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
