The genome sequence of a tachinid fly, Winthemia cruentata (Rondani, 1859) (Diptera: Tachinidae) [version 1; peer review: awaiting peer review]

We present a genome assembly from an individual female Winthemia cruentata (tachinid fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Tachinidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 680.21 megabases and 658.33 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (94.04%) was scaffolded into six chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 20.55 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
