A college in Olongapo City, Zambales has launched an investigation into an alleged viral bullying incident involving students inside a classroom.
The video quickly spread across social media and sparked concern among parents, students, and members of the public. Many expressed alarm after seeing footage that appeared to show a male student being physically harmed by fellow students inside the classroom.
The student was allegedly subjected to physical aggression, and at one point, a chair was reportedly thrown or swung at him, hitting his head. The incident prompted calls for immediate action from school authorities.
Columban College confirmed that it began looking into the matter on the same day the incident occurred. While the school did not disclose the exact date of the event, it assured the public that steps were immediately taken to address the situation.
According to the college, the student involved was brought to the school clinic to receive medical attention. School officials also reached out to the victim’s family and offered psychological support services to help address any emotional effects caused by the incident.
The institution likewise called in the students involved, together with their parents, as part of the initial investigation. Meetings were conducted with school officials, including the class adviser, strand coordinator, assistant school principal, and school principal, to gather information and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
School authorities said the viral video would form part of the ongoing investigation being handled by the Office of the School Principal. The review is being conducted under the supervision of the school administration and in coordination with the appropriate authorities.
The college also appealed for understanding from the public while due process is being observed. Officials emphasized that all parties involved will be given an opportunity to be heard before any final decisions are made.
