Wako Japanese Restaurant, 2340 Shallowford Village Dr., specializes in Asian cuisine. There is an all-you-can-eat menu that includes sushi. It also has a sashimi and hibachi menu or a customer can order al la carte. The atmosphere is casual and family friendly. This location was given a consumer beer permit that allows customers to order a beer to accompany their food.
Torikaya, located downtown at 1120 Houston St., described as a modern Japanese, style restaurant, will open in Chattanooga on Tuesday. It is open for lunch and dinner and customers can gather around a table to share and are encouraged to linger. Plus there is a private event space for up to 34 people seated or 50 for a mingling event. Reservations are not taken for regular dining. The new restaurant has been approved to sell consumer beer.
Thai Smile that specializes in Thai food has opened at 321 Market St. Hours are from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and from 5-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon until 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Outdoor seating is available for dining and take out or delivery orders can be made online. Beverages include beer that is available to accompany the food.
Taco Town 2 has a new location at 3520 Brainerd Road. The first location is at 5425 Highway 153 in Hixson. The restaurant on Brainerd Road is open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closes at 3 p.m. on Sundays for eat-in customers or orders can be made online for either pickup or delivery for the Mexican restaurant.
When it opens, Bona Fide restaurant and bar will be at 55 Johnson St. in Chattanooga’s Southside. The concept is to be a neighborhood spot seasonally inspired dishes, handmade pastas and a bar. Chattanooga’s regulatory bureau has approved the business for a consumer beer permit.
The Sheepish Wolf at 45 E. Main St. is part mens’s shop and part café’/bar. The business has been approved for a beer license in the Gasolina café where it can now sell both coffee and cocktails including beer with the approval from the city’s regulatory bureau which can issues the permits to sell beer.
The Chattanooga Market has been approved for another year to sell beer at 1801 Reggie White Blvd. at the weekly markets on Sundays. In addition to selling beer, different events are held weekly to coordinate with the season where different regional foods, and local hand-made crafts and art are also for sale.
The Council Fire Club, a private club with a top rated 18-hole golf course, a full service restaurant and event space, pool and tennis courts and soon also have three-level townhomes. Dining options include the main dining room, the Den and the Patio as well as the men’s lounge all which have use of the club’s beer permit.
The Fairfield Inn & Suites at 40 Starview Lane in Lookout Valley has been approved to receive a license to sell both consumer and carry-out beer.
The Hatch Outfitters, 3227 Brainerd Road, is a fly fishing shop selling fishing supplies, offering guided fishing trips and instructional based trips for anglers of all skill levels. There are also special events related to fly fishing and fly-tying nights each month on the first Friday that includes the operation of a beer bar.
