Baby Hughy’s, a new restaurant, has opened in Ooltewah at 8210 Apison Pike. It specializes in pizza, burgers and subs, sandwiches and beer. The vibe is descried as “easy going.” Dine in, pickup or delivery and catering is available.

Gabriel Sosa and Jesus Esquivel Sorrano have added a second location of their Mexican restaurant, Mexiville Northshore. The new location is 103 Cherokee Blvd., Unit 600. The business is open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. through 9:30 p.m. The original location remains at 809 Market St. downtown. With the approval of a consumer beer license, the beverage can be served to accompany the food.

The event space and music venue The Signal at 21 Choo Choo Ave., inside the Chattanooga Choo complex, now has three stages hosting a variety of concerts, shows and dance parties. There is a main concert hall with both standing and seating, a secondary stage known as “The Parlor,” and third space called “The Commons.”

 Parking is limited so ridesharing is recommended. Upcoming events can be seen online and tickets purchased at the Signal Event Calendar. The Chattanooga Beer Board has approved a consumer beer permit for the venue.

A new barber shop for men “Tune up the Manly Salon” has opened at 1820 Gunbarrel Road , where a haircut or beard trim includes a free cold beer.

Tennessee Crown Distributing Co., 3873 N. Hawthorne St., has expanded into a new building at the same location it previously occupied. The wholesale operation services three regions in Tennessee, selling top tier spirits, wines, beers and non-alcoholic beverages. The Chattanooga branch services the Southeastern region of the state with other headquarters in Memphis and Nashville.

A carry-out beer permit was approved for the 9 Brothers convenience store a 101 West 38^th St.

On September 24, Habitat for Humanity will hold the annual fundraising event Blueprints for the Future at the First Horizon Pavilion, 1826 Reggie White Blvd. Money raised will help support affordable homeownership. It will be a night of music, food and drinks while supporting its cause. A temporary beer permit was approved for this event. Motivational speaker Inky Johnson, former cornerback and team captain at the University of Tennessee, will be the guest speaker that night.
