Father and son duo, Eddy and Jackson Hilger, announce the grand opening of their second location of Mr. T’s Pizza & Ice Cream, coming April 23 to Ooltewah.

Grand opening festivities will include a free large pizza and limited edition shirt for the first 250 customers on April 23. Then Mr. T’s is honored to give 10 percent from sales on April 24 to the Austin Hatcher Foundation. On April 25, they will give one free ice cream scoop to each customer. They plan to have other family-friendly activities throughout those days.

The new restaurant location is 8890 Old Lee Hwy. in Ooltewah. Once open, the hours of operation will be Monday to Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday from 11:30 am-9 p.m.

“We just really want to be generous and are so excited to be a part of the Ooltewah community,” said Jackson Hilger.

Jackson’s father, Eddy Hilger said, “Every interaction is a chance to brighten someone’s day and we’re excited to share that joy with everyone in Ooltewah.”

Mr. T’s has been a local staple in historic St. Elmo since 1989 when it was started by the original owner Tyler (aka “Mr. T”). Rumor has it, Tyler plans to make an appearance at the Ooltewah restaurant to celebrate his legacy continuing there.
