LOUISVILLE, OHIO — BIXBI Pet announced that six of its cat kibble recipes are now certified by the Clean Label Project. This news follows the announcement of BIXBI’s first certifications for dog kibble in August and brings the company’s total certified lineup to 19 dog and cat recipes.

The new certifications come after the Clean Label Project released an investigation of 100 top-selling cat foods from 62 brands last week. During the investigation, BIXBI® Rawbble® Freeze-Dried Turkey cat food was among the products tested and received Clean Label Project’s highest purity rating.

The six newly certified recipes, available in 3-lb and 10-lb bags, include: BIXBI Rawbble Real Chicken Recipe; BIXBI Rawbble Digestive Health Real Chicken Recipe; BIXBI Rawbble Indoor Health Real Chicken and Salmon Recipe; BIXBI Liberty Real Chicken Recipe; BIXBI Liberty Digestive Health Real Chicken Recipe; and BIXBI Liberty Indoor Health Real Chicken and Salmon Recipe.

“Cats are discerning eaters, and once they find a food they like, many stay on it for years,” said Rachel D’Agostino, chief executive officer of BIXBI Pet. “Pet parents should be able to trust that what they're feeding every day is safe.”

The certification reflects BIXBI’s Better Standard™, the company’s framework for how it formulates, sources and tests its recipes. According to D’Agostino, BIXBI is currently working toward certification for its entire product line by the end of 2027.

Being Clean Label Project Certified means the recipes were tested for contaminants including heavy metals, pesticides, glyphosate, phthalates, bisphenols and acrylamide, using standards derived from California’s Proposition 65, European Union regulations, US state and federal regulations, and Clean Label Project’s proprietary category data.

“Earning Clean Label Project Certification across both its dog and cat recipes demonstrates BIXBI Pet’s continued commitment to product purity,” said Molly Hamilton, executive director of Clean Label Project.
