The genome sequence of stinking tutsan, Hypericum hircinum L. (Malpighiales: Hypericaceae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved, 1 approved with reservations]

We present a genome assembly of Hypericum hircinum (stinking tutsan; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Malpighiales; Hypericaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 421.80 megabases and 403.75 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (92.36%) was scaffolded into 20 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequences have lengths of 342.29 and 143.82 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 165.52 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
