The EU-funded ACTHYVE project has launched a survey to identify and map Technology Infrastructures (TIs) supporting the development and deployment of hydrogen and hydrogen-derived technologies across Europe.

Technology Infrastructures, including pilot plants, demonstration facilities, test beds, laboratories, and validation platforms, are essential assets for accelerating innovation. They enable companies to test and validate new technologies, de-risk research and innovation investments, and support the transition from development to commercial-scale deployment.

As carbon capture and utilisation (CCU), carbon capture technologies, and the synthesis of hydrogen-derived molecules are within the scope of ACTHYVE, this initiative is particularly relevant for stakeholders across the CCU value chain.

The mapping exercise aims to improve the visibility of Technology Infrastructures available to innovators, researchers, and industrial actors working on hydrogen and CCU solutions. By creating a comprehensive overview of existing facilities and technical capabilities, the project seeks to facilitate collaboration, knowledge exchange, and faster market uptake of innovative technologies.

As a partner in ACTHYVE, CO₂ Value Europe contributes to the identification and mapping of the Technology Infrastructures relevant to hydrogen-based CCU value chains. The collected information will be mapped and shown in a separate section of our database, helping stakeholders identify facilities that can support technology validation, demonstration, and scale-up activities.

By completing the survey, organisations can:

• Increase the visibility of their Technology Infrastructures and technical expertise;
• Contribute to a European-wide overview of facilities supporting hydrogen and CCU innovation;
• Help strengthen collaboration opportunities across industry, research organisations, and technology developers;
• Support the acceleration of hydrogen-based CCU technologies towards commercial deployment.

Organisations operating relevant infrastructures are encouraged to participate in the survey and contribute to this European mapping effort. Completing the questionnaire takes approximately 30 minutes.
