Lorenzo Alessi is a firm fan favourite in the Love Island villa but his behaviour has earned him a slap on the wrist from producers.
The 28-year-old fashion business owner was part of the original line-up on the show and has survived into its seventh week on-air. While he has worked his way through a number of couplings in the villa so far, he is now happily paired up with Casa Amor bombshell, Julia Majchrzak.
The duo were recently crowned the public's favourite couple, but their popularity came with a catch. They had to decide which of the three couples who received the least number of votes to dump, resulting in the end of the road for fellow OGs, Sean Fitzgerald and Lola Deal.
Their departure prompted a rare display of emotion from Lorenzo who has been teased throughout the series for being laid back and seemingly unfazed by the villa drama. His relaxed attitude even earned him a warning from the production team, according to dumped Islander, Ope Sowande.
Series 13 star Ope had a short stint in the villa, lasting just under two weeks. He was dumped unexpectedly alongside partner Victoria Onanusi after they were named the couple with the weakest connection in a game of Truth or Dare.
He recently opened up about his former co-star Lorenzo while chatting with Season 7 Islander, Chloe Burrows, revealing Lorenzo's aversion to chatting to the girls had him hoisted before the production team.
"I don't know why he's there," Ope started. "He's amazing. He just doesn't give a f***. I would get really stressed in there and he'd be like 'Why are you stressing?'. I'm like 'Oh I don't know'. He'd be like 'Mate, just do what I do. Nothing'."
He continued: "It was the end of the night, I think... who just came in, I can't remember. One of the girls was like 'Lorenzo do you wanna go chat?' and he was like 'I'm just all chatted out'. And then someone else came and said 'Lorenzo, you wanna go chat?' and he goes 'Ugh'.
"He's like 'I don't want to chat anymore'. It's late, and it's the end of the evening but they need people to chat still. He was just 'I'm all chatted out, I'm not speaking anymore'. He got called straight to the Beach Hut."
Lorenzo was recently criticised by viewers at home for his resistance to making his partner Julia a coffee, despite her plea for him to make her one. While he finally caved, it has since emerged he had made a promise to his mum that he would not make one in the villa.
Appearing on Love Island's companion show Aftersun, the reality star's mum explained: "He's been watching this since he was a kid with me; it's my favourite programme, I watch it every year. And he's always been like, 'I've never ever seen a girl make a coffee for a guy.'"
She continued: "To wind me up he said, 'I promise you, I'm not going to make anyone a coffee'. He said it the other day: 'I made a promise' - that promise was to me."
Love Island airs Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
