Love Island favourite Ellie Chadwick has had a rough journey on the ITV show

ITV viewers are worried that Love Island star Ellie Chadwick isn't built for the dating experiment after picking up on her villa habit.

The real estate videographer, 24, joined the show on day one but she has struggled to find a stable partner over the last six weeks. She initially coupled up with Aidan Murphy, before moving onto other Islanders including Aidan's brother Kavan, and bombshell Tommy Murphy.

Ellie most recently sparked a relationship with newcomer Finley Maddock, but they have hit their first big hurdle. After surviving Casa Amor, a fresh bombshell called Elicia Bailey entered the villa and declared her interest in Finley.

Finley was more than happy to explore a connection with her, despite his previous claims that he was invested in Ellie. It all came to blows in Sunday's (July 12) episode when Elicia stole Finley from his couple, leaving Ellie so upset that she threatened to quit the show.

Although fans sympathise with the OG Islander, some have called out her "unrealistic expectations" of the men she is coupled up with.

Taking to Reddit, one fan explained their stance: "Her expectations of the men she's with throughout her LI experience have been unrealistic. Ellie does not want to explore multiple guys at the same time. Seems like it's not in her nature/personality. Other people can."

All of Ellie's break-ups so far have been due to her partners exploring connections with other women in the villa. Meanwhile, other Islanders have been open to testing out different romances.

The post went on to say: "Ellie just wants a guy to choose her and stick with her the way Fitzy did with Lola. It is POSSIBLE but it's not very realistic on this show.

"The show's entire setup, with OGs, bombshells, Casa, the boys sneaking out to meet girls, etc. is designed for the contestants to explore multiple connections and create drama in the villa."

Like most couples on the show, Ellie and Finley hadn't closed their relationship off before he was stolen. But they have been intimate, which most fans think is the real reason Ellie feels so betrayed.

The viewer further clarified: "Finley sucks and I am not a fan of his whatsoever and I do not condone his behaviour. He doesn't deserve Ellie at all.

"I'm specifically only talking about Ellie's expectations vs reality in this post and that I think our girl's expectations are not realistic."

Someone else agreed, posting: "Not many will pull a Fitz and [get to] know one woman at a time on Love Island of all places. I feel for the girl, I don’t think this environment was right for her. Love is Blind I could see her on!"

A third fan admitted: "I don't think she knows that she is on 'Love island.'"

However, others have rushed to defend the Scottish beauty.

"I normally criticise the girls more than most on here in response to some wild takes defending them but Ellie hasn't done anything wrong here. Finley has been a total snake to her and handled her feelings appallingly."

Love Island airs Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
