Sample Logic have launched Quadra, a multi-effects plug-in built around an XY pad that blends between four separate effect chains. Each corner of the pad can host up to four effects, allowing users to move between contrasting sounds with movement controlled by hand or automated in time with a track.

Quadra's 22 effects cover reverb, shimmer, tape and dub delays, granular processing, spectral freeze, modal resonators, filtering, drive, wavefolding and rhythmic gating. Each corner has its own chain, with the pad’s position determining the balance between them. The result can be controlled manually, animated using a looping shape, or captured by drawing a path directly on the pad.

The Motion Engine offers four modes: Manual, Auto, Draw and Steps. The Steps mode sequences movement across 16 steps, synchronised to the host tempo with swing, while the X and Y morph parameters can also be automated in a DAW. Motion settings can be saved and recalled as presets.

For getting started, Quadra ships with more than 630 factory presets, including 150 Master Presets across 12 styles, as well as dedicated Chain, Effect and Motion Presets. A layered randomisation function generates new combinations from configurations Sample Logic have tested for level consistency and clicks. Users can also revert changes with full Undo and Redo, and compare settings using A/B Compare.

The plug-in’s convolution effect includes 81 impulse responses across five categories: Ambient, Rhythmic, Rooms, SFX and Short. Responses can be auditioned and edited within the effect, with controls for trimming the start point and playing them in reverse. Quadra also features a resizable interface and VoiceOver accessibility on macOS.

Quadra is available as an AU and VST3 plug-in for macOS 11 or later, supporting Apple Silicon and Intel, and as a VST3 plug-in for 64-bit Windows 10 or later. It is not available in AAX format for Pro Tools.

Quadra will be available at an introductory price of $69 instead of $99 until November 5, 2026.
