A day after placing rookie running back Jadarian Price on injured reserve, the Seahawks are reportedly bringing in veteran Joe Mixon for a visit.
The news that Mixon is expected to visit the Seahawks came from Jay Glazer of Fox Sports on Sunday.
Going on IR means Price must miss at least four games. But the reported interest in Mixon might mean the Seahawks are worried Price’s absence could be longer.
Or maybe the Seahawks just want to add to what is suddenly a most uncertain running back room.

George Holani, one of three running backs available for Sunday’s game, has battled a rib injury all week in practice.
The other two running backs for Sunday’s game were Emanuel Wilson and Velus Jones Jr., the latter who was signed off the practice squad Saturday.
Zach Charbonnet returned to practice this past week, but he realistically might not play for a few more weeks.
The Seahawks’ visit with Mixon is obviously in part to see what the 30-year-old two-time Pro Bowler has left.
Mixon missed the 2025 season with a foot injury that he suffered during the offseason.
There was a thought his career might be over. But he recently posted a video of a workout Saturday that ended with him stating: “Let’s go! I’m back, baby!”
Mixon rushed for 1,016 yards with Houston in 2024, when he made his second Pro Bowl. He spent the 2017-23 seasons with the Bengals, rushing for 1,000 or more yards four times and making the Pro Bowl in 2021.
Mixon entered the league as a second-round pick of the Bengals out of Oklahoma in 2017.
As detailed by NFL.com, the league’s official website: “Prior to entering the league, Mixon was charged with misdemeanor assault and suspended for a season after he was seen on video knocking out a female student with a punch at a restaurant in Norman, Oklahoma, in July of 2014. Mixon completed a year of probation, 100 hours of community service and behavioral counseling as per a plea agreement to the charge.”
In 2023, according to ESPN, Mixon was found not guilty of aggravated menacing. According to ESPN, “Mixon had been accused of pulling a gun on a woman after a road rage incident and saying he should shoot her in the face.” But a judge said, “City prosecutors failed to present enough evidence to prove the misdemeanor aggravated menacing charge.”
