Дата публикации: 18-06-2026 11:08:16

The Department of Correction is investigating the death of an inmate at the Bridgeport Correctional Center.
On Wednesday at 7:35 p.m., another inmate said he found his cellmate unresponsive on the floor with a ligature around his neck. He told facility staff, who immediately initiated life-saving measures, the DOC said.
Staff continued to perform CPR until an ambulance arrived and transported 41-year-old Said Khaled Youssef of Queens, New York, to the hospital, according to the DOC.
Youssef was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital at 8:28 p.m., the DOC said.
Connecticut State Police and the Office of the Inspector General are also investigating Youssef’s death.
Youssef was being held on several charges and had a bond of $20,000. He entered the system on Tuesday.
The state medical examiner’s office will determine Youssef’s cause of death.
