The genome sequence of the Double Kidney, Ipimorpha retusa (Linnaeus, 1761) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of Ipimorpha retusa (Double Kidney; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Noctuidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 731.28 megabases and 684.75 megabases. For haplotypes 1 and 2, respectively, 99.78% and 99.67% of the assembly sequence was scaffolded into 31 and 29 chromosomal pseudomolecules; haplotype 1 includes the W and Z sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.52 kilobases. This work is part of Project Psyche, a collaborative programme generating genomes for European butterflies and moths.
