The genome sequence of the Beautiful Gothic, Leucochlaena oditis (Hübner, 1822) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of Leucochlaena oditis (Beautiful Gothic; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Noctuidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 649.22 megabases and 586.78 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.37%) was scaffolded into 32 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.42 kilobases. This work is part of Project Psyche, a collaborative programme generating genomes for European butterflies and moths.
