The genome sequence of the Rust Pine Borer, Arhopalus rusticus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly from an individual female Arhopalus rusticus (Rust Pine Borer; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Cerambycidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1,275.12 megabases and 1,246.21 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (95.11%) was scaffolded into eight chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. Most of haplotype 2 (97.22%) is scaffolded into 9 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.8 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
