Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu is an American musician and songwriter who has a net worth of $30 million. Fieldy is best known as the founding bassist of Korn, the Bakersfield band that became one of the most commercially successful heavy-rock acts of the late 1990s and helped establish the nu-metal genre. Reginald Quincy Arvizu was born on November 2, 1969, in Los Angeles County, California, and grew up in Bakersfield.

Arvizu became involved in music while young and played bass in L.A.P.D. alongside future Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer and drummer David Silveria. Following the dissolution of L.A.P.D., they continued together in Creep. Guitarist Brian "Head" Welch joined the group, followed by vocalist Jonathan Davis.

The five musicians became Korn in 1993.

Korn's debut album arrived in 1994 and introduced a sound that was unusually bass-heavy for a metal band. Fieldy's instrument was often mixed prominently, and his playing frequently acted almost like an additional percussion track alongside Silveria's drums.

The group followed with "Life Is Peachy" in 1996 and became mainstream stars with 1998's "Follow the Leader." The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and included the hit singles "Got the Life" and "Freak on a Leash." Korn's next album, "Issues," also reached #1.

Fieldy remained with the band through multiple lineup changes. Head departed in 2005, Silveria left the following year, and Ray Luzier eventually became Korn's drummer. Head returned in 2013.

Over the following decades, Korn continued releasing commercially successful albums and remained a major touring act around the world. The group's total record sales eventually surpassed 40 million copies.

Fieldy's long tenure with Korn provided several sources of wealth. As an original songwriter, he owns interests in the band's early catalog rather than simply collecting fees for touring.

He was also one of Korn's four active members when the group reached its groundbreaking 2005 agreement with EMI. Under the arrangement, EMI paid the band approximately $15 million upfront and received more than 25% of several Korn revenue streams, including publishing, touring, merchandise, and album profits.

Fieldy remained an active member for another 15 years after that transaction, giving him nearly three decades of earnings from Korn tours, recordings and related businesses.

Outside Korn, Fieldy explored hip-hop through the project Fieldy's Dreams. He released the album "Rock'n Roll Gangster," which allowed him to pursue musical ideas that did not fit Korn.

He later became a member of StillWell, a rock and hip-hop-influenced project also featuring rapper Q-Unique and drummer Wuv Bernardo. StillWell released albums including "Dirtbag," "Raise It Up," "Supernatural Miracle," and "Rock the House."

In 2009, Fieldy published the memoir "Got the Life: My Journey of Addiction, Faith, Recovery, and Korn." The book detailed his years of heavy drinking and drug use, his experiences with fame, and his eventual religious conversion and lifestyle changes.

In 2021, Fieldy announced that he was stepping away from Korn to address personal problems and what he described as a return to some unhealthy habits. Roberto "Ra" Díaz began performing bass with Korn on tour.

Although Fieldy did not tour in support of "Requiem," bass parts he had previously recorded appeared on the album. He subsequently remained outside Korn's touring lineup and has described himself as effectively retired from the group while leaving open the possibility that circumstances could change.

His absence ended an active run with Korn that stretched for nearly 30 years. Regardless of whether he performs with the group again, his songwriting interests in Korn's classic catalog continue to have value.
