Myles Kennedy is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist who has a net worth of $5 million.
Myles Kennedy is best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Alter Bridge and as the longtime singer for Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Known for his wide vocal range and powerful live performances, Kennedy has spent more than two decades as one of the most prolific frontmen in modern hard rock.
Kennedy first developed a following in the Pacific Northwest with Citizen Swing and the Mayfield Four before joining Alter Bridge in 2004 alongside former Creed members Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall, and Scott Phillips. Alter Bridge built an international following through albums including "One Day Remains," "Blackbird," "AB III," "Fortress," and "Pawns & Kings." Kennedy's reputation led to collaborations with Slash beginning in 2010, eventually making him the permanent vocalist of Slash's solo band. He has simultaneously maintained a solo career and has released several albums under his own name.
Early LifeMyles Richard Bass was born on November 27, 1969, in Boston, Massachusetts. His biological father died when Kennedy was young, and he was subsequently raised in the Spokane, Washington, area by his mother and stepfather. He adopted the Kennedy surname from his stepfather.
Kennedy became interested in music as a teenager and studied music theory at Spokane Falls Community College. Initially heavily influenced by guitarists, he developed as both a guitarist and vocalist.
Citizen Swing and The Mayfield FourKennedy's early professional work included the jazz-influenced group Cosmic Dust and the Spokane band Citizen Swing. Citizen Swing released the albums "Cure Me with the Groove" and "Deep Down."
In the mid-1990s, Kennedy formed the Mayfield Four. The group signed with Epic Records and released "Fallout" in 1998 and "Second Skin" in 2001. Although the Mayfield Four never achieved major commercial success, Kennedy's vocals attracted attention within the rock industry and helped establish the reputation that eventually led to much larger opportunities.

In 2004, Kennedy joined guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips in Alter Bridge. The three instrumentalists had previously played together in Creed with singer Scott Stapp.
Alter Bridge released its debut album, "One Day Remains," in 2004. The album was certified Gold in the United States. The band subsequently established a particularly strong international following with "Blackbird" in 2007 and "AB III" in 2010.
Later albums included "Fortress," "The Last Hero," "Walk the Sky," and "Pawns & Kings." Kennedy gradually took on a larger guitar role within the band in addition to serving as its lead vocalist.
In January 2026, Alter Bridge released its self-titled eighth studio album, "Alter Bridge." Part of the album was recorded at 5150 Studios, the famous recording facility built by Eddie Van Halen. The band received access to the studio through Eddie's son, musician Wolfgang Van Halen.
Led Zeppelin SessionsKennedy's reputation as a vocalist led to an extraordinary opportunity in 2008. After Led Zeppelin's 2007 reunion performance and Robert Plant's decision not to pursue a full reunion, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones, and drummer Jason Bonham began exploring the possibility of a new project.
Kennedy rehearsed and wrote music with the musicians during private sessions. The proposed group ultimately never moved forward, but Kennedy later described playing with Page, Jones, and Bonham as one of the most remarkable experiences of his career.
Slash and the ConspiratorsKennedy first worked with Slash on the guitarist's 2010 self-titled solo album, singing "Back from Cali" and "Starlight." Their chemistry led Slash to recruit Kennedy as the vocalist for his touring band.
The partnership evolved into Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The group released "Apocalyptic Love" in 2012, "World on Fire" in 2014, "Living the Dream" in 2018, and "4" in 2022.
The Slash collaboration significantly expanded Kennedy's audience and placed him on major stages around the world. In 2012, Kennedy also performed with members of Guns N' Roses at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony after Axl Rose declined to attend.
Solo CareerKennedy released his first solo album, "Year of the Tiger," in 2018. The deeply personal record dealt in part with the death of his father and featured a more acoustic, blues, and Americana-oriented sound than much of his work with Alter Bridge and Slash.
He followed it with "The Ides of March" in 2021 and "The Art of Letting Go" in 2024. Kennedy plays multiple instruments and writes extensively across his various projects.
His profile as a guitarist has also produced endorsement opportunities, including a signature guitar developed with PRS Guitars.
