One of the questions I have had about the E-Cat NGU is its power density. Andrea Rossi has not given product specifications about the latest iteration of the E-Cat, either the SSM or non-SSM versions. He has said that information will be provided at the global presentation. Today, however, he did answer a question on the topic of power density in terms of power and weight (referred to as gravimetric power density)

Prof. RossiHow does the SSM version now in testing compare to an ordinary lithium battery in terms of power output per unit of weight? Thanks.

Power density is usually described in terms of power output per unit of volume, and that is not addressed here. Battery weight is an important consideration, and can be limitation, when it comes to mobile applications. Rossi has stated that the first E-Cat NGU versions are not intended for use in transportation, so power/weight may not as important as power/volume.
