Driver dead after single-car crash Saturday morning in Norwich

Norwich officials say a driver is dead after a single-car crash around 8:30 a.m. on Taftville-Occum Road.
“Bystanders who heard the crash rushed to the scene and began CPR on the male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle,” they said.
According to officials, the driver was sent to the hospital and pronounced dead around 9:30 a.m.
Norwich Police, Norwich Fire Department, Occum Fire Department and American Ambulance responded on scene.
The investigation is still ongoing and that is all the information at this time.
