What began as a quiet early morning call in Miami erupted into a chaotic, high speed pursuit of a brand new C8 Corvette Z06 that tore across two South Florida cities before ending in a violent crash Thursday.

The dramatic finale — a blur of flashing lights, flying debris, and a suspect being led away in cuffs — was all caught on surveillance video.

Miami police say the incident began around 1:20 a.m. near Northwest 5th Avenue and 30th Street, where two victims reported being confronted by an armed man. The gunman demanded their Corvette hardtop convertible and disappeared into the darkness before officers arrived.

Hours later, the stolen Z06 surfaced miles away in Miami Gardens. A Shell station’s security camera captured the final seconds of the chase: police lights glowing in the distance, the Corvette rocketing into frame, and then a sudden, catastrophic loss of control.

The car slammed into a pole, ricocheted into the rear of an SUV parked in a handicap space, and skidded out of view into a metal fence, scattering debris across the lot.

Within seconds, nearly a dozen law enforcement vehicles flooded the scene. Officers sprinted toward the wreckage and fanned out across the parking lot, though the video doesn’t show whether the driver attempted to run.

Miami Police later confirmed that Miami Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies located the Corvette and detained the suspect near Northwest 42nd Avenue and 183rd Street. Additional footage shows officers escorting a handcuffed man away from the crash site.

Despite the violent impact, police said no injuries were reported.

As of Thursday, investigators had not announced what charges the suspect may face.
