Hilaria Baldwin clashed with husband Alec Baldwin over her nickname for their four-year-old daughter Lulu in their newly released TLC reality show.

The 41-year-old former yoga instructor, real name Hillary Hayward-Thomas, shares seven children with the Hollywood A-lister - Carmen Gabriela, 11, Rafael Thomas, nine, Leonardo Angel Charles, eight, Romeo Alejandro David, six, Eduardo Pao Lucas, four, Maria Lucia 'Lulu' Victoria, four, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, two.

In the first episode of the reality series, Alec asked his wife to say one word that comes to mind when he mentions each of their seven children.

However, tensions brewed when the conversation reached their daughter Lulu.

'Lulu, she's like a Viking,' Hilaria stated.

'Lulu is like a flower to me,' Alec declared. 'She's so radiant. The word for her is radiant.'

'You know the flower that eats things?' Hilaria then cut in, which didn't go down well with husband Alec.

'A Venus flytrap?' the actor exclaimed. 'She's not a Venus flytrap!

'What a horrible thing for you to say. I'm going to tell her that when she's older.'

Lulu turned four on February 25 and mom Hilaria shared a gushing tribute on her Instagram profile to mark the occasion. 

'Happy fourth birthday to our Marilú!!!!' she captioned the upload.

'You light up a room… what a joyful spirit you have. We love you so very much and are so lucky to have you in our lives.' 

Elsewhere in the premiere episode of The Baldwins, Hilaria set the record straight on her 'fake' Spanish accent, insisting that her bilingual upbringing has impacted how she sounds.

Born in an upscale neighborhood of Boston, her accent has raised eyebrows over the years with her questionable dialect.

Hilaria said she is 'normal' for mixing English and Spanish while also expressing upset over being criticized for her accent.

'My nuclear family now lives over in Spain,' she said. 

'I want to teach my kids pride in speaking more than one language.

'I think just growing up speaking two languages is extremely special. I love English and I also love Spanish, and when I mix the two, it doesn't make me inauthentic.

'When I mix the two, it makes me normal!'

Hilaria, who shares seven kids with her husband Alec, hinted that although the controversy over her accent has made her feel low, she has been able to lean on her loved ones for support.

She continued: 'I would be lying if I said it didn't make me sad and it didn't hurt and it didn't put me in dark places.

'But it was my family, my friends, my community who speak multiple languages, who have belonged in multiple places, and realize that we are a mix of all these different things and that is going to have an impact on how we sound and how we articulate things and the words that we choose and our mannerisms.

'That normal. That's what's called being human.'
