With just around two (2) years now before his term ends, Marcos Jr. is vocal about his dream that there will be no more problem about hunger in the Philippines when steps down from the presidency in 2028.
The President has always been vocal about how he feels towards the hunger problem in many households in the country. In line with his goal, the government launched the Walang Gutom Program which is already operational in many regions across the nation.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos announced that the support to the Filipino people is now xpanded through the UPLIFT program. Under the said program, there is a total of 37.5 million target beneficiaries.
According to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the Department of Social Welfare and Development or DSWD will lead the UPLIFT program. The social welfare department will work alongside other government agencies.
Marcos Jr. also revealed that 3.5 million beneficiaries of 4Ps and the Walang Gutom Program will receive additional assistance under the UPLIFT. Also, he announced that 1.5 million members of the Social Security System or SSS will receive cash assistance as well.
“Palalawakin din natin ang ating suporta para sa 2.5 milyong mahihirap at ‘yung malapit nang maging mahirap ng kabahayang natutukoy sa 2024 community-based monitoring system o CBMS gayundin ang 1.5 milyong manggagawa at kanilang pamilya na may mababang kita na nakumpirma sa talaan ng Social Security System,” the President said.
According to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the SSS member beneficiaries under the UPLIFT program will receive P2,000 monthly from July until December. In his vlog, the President assured that the government will ensure that the help will be delivered to help the Filipino people.
