FIREFLIES? You may not encounter these fanciful little flyers this summer, but you can step into a luminous landscape that has some of that illuminated energy. The illumination found at Sensorio, the epic art wonderland gracing a pastoral Paso Robles location, isn’t generated by tiny beasties flitting here and there; rather, thousands of small and shimmerful lights create a glowing realm of flower-like pieces that emit soft and colorful brilliance. This is temptation enough to visit, but there are other enticing reasons to call upon “Field of Light,” artist Bruce Munro’s immersive art installation, in the warmer months. Look to a glimmering line-up of events that complement the whimsical work, happenings that feature music, crafts, and food.
“Dimensions” by the art collective HYBYCOZO are part of the Sensorio experience.
SUMMER CONCERTS… on select 2026 dates will bring a musical note to the incandescent experience, and there’s “updated event lawn seating” for the sunset sounds. Other happenings coming up at the expansive destination, which rambles over 35 acres, include craft fairs, olive oil tastings with Pasolivo, and galactic gatherings focused on astronomy. And coming up in the fall? Winemaker dinners will visit the glowing grounds, which also include the hue-changing “Light Towers” and other whimsy-filled works in addition to “Field of Light.” Looking for a chance to sip ahead of your stroll among the lights? The Terrace Experience is still a popular choice, with seating that gives guests a wide sweep of the lights, a drink ticket, and the chance to purchase food while dining at tables located near heaters.
