About the roleThis is an exciting position, with a focus on pastoral care, at an international University based in the City of Bath for any applicant that is looking to help and support students and staff within a Higher Education setting. The role is strongly customer focused and you must demonstrate an ability to perform well within a team and also be able to demonstrate the use of initiative whilst working alone when dealing with emergencies, medical first aid response, alarm activations and many other reported incidents.Together with a team of security staff, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment throughout both campus and City campus, including student accommodation and other University Buildings.About youWe’re looking for someone who can make a real difference to our students.You’ll be someone who:Communicates clearly and genuinely with students and colleaguesProvides understanding, support, and outstanding customer service, especially in a pastoral care roleIs confident using computers and can write clear, accurate reportsCan plan and prioritise when things get busy or conflicting demands ariseHolds a valid UK driving licence for manual vehiclesStays calm and effective when dealing with challenging situationsEnjoys working as part of a team to solve problems togetherFurther informationThe position covers the main University campus and City campus buildings off site.The basic working week is of 38.5 hours (which includes 2 hours contracted overtime).
