Dragon Ball Super’s Lord Zeno has remained one of the most powerful anime characters of all time for years, but that’s about to change. With the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, Zeno won’t even be the most powerful canonical character in the Dragon Ball universe anymore.

After reigning over the entire Dragon Ball multiverse for a decade, Zeno is finally being dethroned by godly entities who make Zeno’s universe erasure powers look like child’s play. A leak for the upcoming game Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 has revealed brand-new gods called the Time Gods of Destruction, reportedly designed by Akira Toriyama like many of the other concepts and characters in the game.

If the leaks are true, these Time Gods of Destruction are infinitely more powerful than Beerus, Black Frieza, Gohan Beast and every other powerful warrior in Dragon Ball Super fans can think of.

Dragon Ball Super's Zeno Is Nothing Compared to Xenoverse 3's New "Time Gods of Destruction"

The Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 leak comes from prominent insider Geekdom, who shared the information during a livestream with Dragon Ball content creator SLOplays.

According to Geekdom, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is set to introduce brand new divine beings called the Time Gods of Destruction. He speculates that these new gods will apparently function similar to the Gods of Destruction like Beerus and Champa, except they’ll be in charge of destroying entire timelines instead of just planets and galaxies.

This is huge, because it means there are now gods even stronger than Zeno, who was previously Dragon Ball Super’s unparalleled god.

In Dragon Ball Super, there is a Zeno in every timeline, and he does have the power to destroy his own timeline, though it seems to require a far greater amount of effort. If there are now Gods of Destruction who can destroy timelines with the ease Beerus destroys planets, that means they’re at least equal to, if not stronger than Zeno. And considering the Gods of Destruction are always watched over by even stronger Angels, that means that the Time Gods of Destruction must be watched by Angels and gods far stronger than Zeno.

In fact, if the Time Gods of Destruction are in charge of destroying timelines, that means they'd be tasked with destroying the Zenos of those timelines along with the timeline itself, proving they must be way more powerful than Zeno is.

The Time Gods of Destruction Give Goku a New Level of Power to Aspire to After He Surpasses Beerus

The introduction of these Time Gods of Destruction in the canonical series might not be that surprising to fans who have been paying attention to the direction Dragon Ball Super was headed.

Given the series’ power creep, it was really only a matter of time before the multiverse moved on to the next level in its hierarchy. Goku and Vegeta have steadily crept closer to Beerus in power for years, and now even Gohan and Piccolo are rivaling that same level of power.

It’s even already possible that Black Frieza is actually stronger than Beerus already, meaning the only entities surpassing the current villain are the Angels and Zeno. And there have already been theories that Vegeta is a God of Destruction in the future time period of Xenoverse 3, making it even more necessary for the game to introduce entities even more powerful than a regular GOD.

Dragon Ball has always had a way of having the Z Fighters surpass the gods of their universe, anyway. Goku first grew stronger than Kami in OG Dragon Ball, and then outdid the Kais in DBZ. The same was always bound to happen in Dragon Ball Super, but it would then require even stronger gods to be introduced to give Goku a new level to aspire to after Beerus and the Angels are left in the dust.

It looks like Xenoverse 3 is setting up that next level for Goku and Vegeta to set their sights on in the distant future, and the Time Gods of Destruction are the ones raising the bar.
