Morning Pointe of Hixson Assisted Living and Memory Care is inviting neighbors, families, friends and community members to roll up their sleeves and give back during an upcoming blood drive with Blood Assurance.

The blood drive will take place Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Morning Pointe of Hixson, 5501 Old Hixson Pike in Hixson. The event gives local residents an opportunity to make a direct difference for patients and families who rely on donated blood while supporting a community-wide effort to help maintain the local blood supply.

All eligible donors will receive a “Game Changers” t-shirt while supplies last.

Eligible platelet and double red cell donors can also receive a $25 e-gift card.

Donors are encouraged to eat a good meal, drink extra water before donating and bring a valid ID.

“Events like this are a simple but meaningful way for our campus to connect with the Hixson community and give people an opportunity to help someone they may never meet,” said Robin Jackson, executive director of Morning Pointe of Hixson. “We hope our neighbors, families and friends will join us, donate if they are able and help make a difference for patients in our community.”
