Morning Pointe of Hixson Assisted Living and Memory Care and Life Care of Hixson are partnering with the CommonSpirit – Memorial Hospital Mobile Health Program to bring mobile mammography services to the Morning Pointe campus. The event on Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. at 5501 Old Hixson Pike in Hixson, is open to the public and is designed to make routine breast cancer screening more convenient for women in the community.

"October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and women in the Hixson community will have an opportunity to prioritize their health with convenient access to a mobile mammography screening right in their community," officials said.

"Women are encouraged to use the opportunity to schedule a screening, especially those who may have been putting off an appointment or have difficulty finding time to prioritize their own health."

“Women are often so busy caring for their families and the people around them that their own health can take a back seat,” said Robin Jackson, executive director of Morning Pointe of Hixson. “Bringing mobile mammography directly to our campus gives women in our community another convenient opportunity to make their health a priority. We’re glad to partner with CommonSpirit and Life Care of Hixson to help make this important screening more accessible.”

Women who are uninsured or underinsured can ask about available coverage and financial assistance.

Participants should bring:
- Doctor’s full name;
- Driver’s license or state ID;
- Insurance card, if applicable; and
- Completed registration form.
