Man injured in a shooting across the street from Bridgeport housing complex

Bridgeport police say a man is in the hospital after being shot across the street from a housing complex early Sunday morning.
They say his condition is unknown at this time but the victim was found with a gunshot wound on his back before being transported to the hospital.
“The department’s ShotSpotter system detected 17 gunshots on Harral Avenue across from the Greene Homes public housing complex several minutes after midnight,” they said. “That was immediately followed by 911 calls reporting the gunfire. One caller said the victim made his way into their apartment in the Greene Homes after he was shot.”
The shooting happened three hours after the drive-by shooting on Benham Avenue but police say the incidents are not connected.
The shooting is still being investigated by the Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force. Anyone with information on the Harral Avenue shooting is asked to call Detective Tim Leonard at (203) 581-5253.
