The genome sequence of the Mountain Plume, Stenoptilia islandicus (Staudinger, 1857) (Lepidoptera: Pterophoridae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly from a male specimen of Stenoptilia islandicus (Mountain Plume; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Pterophoridae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1,009.86 megabases and 1,010.81 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.32%) was scaffolded into 30 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.59 kilobases. This work is part of Project Psyche, a collaborative programme generating genomes for European butterflies and moths.
