The genome sequence of the Sycamore Slender, Caloptilia hemidactylella (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of Caloptilia hemidactylella (Sycamore Slender; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Gracillariidae).The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 308.33 megabases and 268.83 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.55%) was scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes. Most of haplotype 2 (99.33%) is scaffolded into 29 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Hi-C data were used to phase the assembly, and both haplotypes were assembled to chromosome level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.96 kilobases. This work is part of Project Psyche, a collaborative programme generating genomes for European butterflies and moths.
