The genome sequence of the Handmaid, Dysauxes ancilla (Linnaeus, 1767) (Lepidoptera: Erebidae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly from a male specimen of Dysauxes ancilla (Handmaid; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Erebidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1,338.65 megabases and 1,337.93 megabases. For haplotypes 1 and 2, respectively, 99.26% and 98.96% of the assembly sequence was scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.49 kilobases. This work is part of Project Psyche, a collaborative programme generating genomes for European butterflies and moths.
