Republican Eric Pratt is running to replace Rep. Angie Craig in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District, but his campaign is now looking for a new field director after the resignation of Austin Brown, reports MPR News. Pratt’s opponent, Democrat Matt Little, called attention to social media posts by Brown earlier in the week.

Brown posted many aggressive statements up through 2026, including calls for transgender people to be put in “asylums,” a post calling for immigration agents to physically attack observers and posts railing against Jewish and Muslim people. In one post, Brown calls himself a “White Christian Nationalist.”

A woman in Hugo has been sentenced to 180 hours of community service following a string of threatening messages she left for Rep. Lisa Demuth, House Speaker and the GOP’s candidate for governor. “I am not kidding,” one of the messages is alleged to have said. “Wherever you are, you should be wondering when we are going to come.”

Approximately 150 doctors at Allina Unity and Mercy Hospitals are set to begin a four-day strike on Monday, Sept. 14 after three years of fruitless contract negotiations. Hospice nurses in the Allina system begin a seven-day strike today, and all this is happening as California-based Sutter Health is working on purchasing Allina Health.

Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office is suing two developers who are alleged to have exploited Somali Muslims by selling them houses at inflated prices and manipulating contracts to put them in financial straits, Sahan Journal reports.

[Travis] Benoit and [Steven] Legatt sold homes to Somali buyers using contracts for deeds, which are alternatives to conventional mortgages that typically come with fewer consumer protections. Just like [Chad] Banken, they allegedly promoted their home sales as free of interest to attract Muslim homebuyers, who often avoid paying interest because of religious beliefs.

And finally in your news roundup: We all grew up on equal parts fear and admiration for the Tyrannosaurus rex (or at least we *should* have), and now scientists have discovered the first trackway made by an adult T. rex, and it’s in North Dakota. The trackway consists of four footprints providing important information about how the animal moved, and likely making it the first evidence of someone trying to get the hell out of North Dakota.
