Dallas Cowboys headed to Woodland Hills for joint practice with Los Angeles Rams

Дата публикации: 11-08-2026 12:56:56

The Dallas Cowboys are headed south to Woodland Hills, CA, for joint practice against the Rams.
Last year, the Rams embarrassed the Cowboys at joint practice. The Rams went on to go 12-5 and lose in the NFC Championship – a game the Cowboys have not reached in 30 years. The Cowboys finished 7-9-1.
The Rams have proverbially won the offseason, with trades for Arlington’s Myles Garrett, who is coming off an award-winning and record-setting season with the Cleveland Browns, and Trent McDuffie, who won two Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Rams are also led by Highland Park’s Matthew Stafford, the reigning league MVP.
Quarterback Dak Prescott has been as confident as ever, leading the same 11 starters as last season. Prescott believes the Cowboys will have to play the Rams several times this season to accomplish their goals. That would involve potential playoff rematch.
“Yeah, it’s a litmus test, you know. It’s all you can ask for,” Prescott said. “This is a team that we’re going to play in the season, and it is probably a team that we want to get to where we want to get to; we’re going to have to see them again. So call this probably what? The first of three meetings, I’d assume, if you know everybody takes care of business… so it’s definitely gonna be a test. It’s gonna be fun. It’ll be two great teams competing against each other, and at the end of the day it’s practice. So yeah, we’ll have a lot of time after that to clean it up and to say, this is what we got to get better, but we can’t go out here and also have a hell of a practice and think we’ve done something.”
The Cowboys host the Rams on Sun. Dec 20.
Last year, Donovan Ezeiruaku was a rookie, and George Pickens was in his first offseason with the Cowboys. Both players feel confident going into year two with the team.
“It’s treated pretty much like a game. I understand some guys that get limited reps in preseason. I didn’t understand that last year. Wish I would have came out a little bit hot, treated it more like a game, so like doing my whole pregame routine. But I know that now, and that’s just like the learning curve going through your rookie year,” Ezeiruaku said.
Ezeiraku was thrown out of practice last week after throwing a punch at teammate and right tackle Terrence Steele. Schottenheimer said if you throw a punch in a game, you’re getting ejected, so the same rule applies in practice.
“Well, for me, definitely, because that was my first year here. I was kind of thinking about a lot of things myself. But I feel like the scrimmage last year went good as well. They came out here. This time, we’ll go down there. And like I said, the stuff we’ll be doing should definitely carry over to the scrimmage,” Pickens said.
The Cowboys’ first preseason game is Saturday in Seattle, but most starters will not play.
