Dak Prescott’s 2026 season slogan: GOTI (Greatest Offense There Is)
Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are embracing a new slogan as they prepare for the 2026 season.
The offense was statistically the best in the NFL last season. Once again, expectations are very high for that group in 2026. This offseason, Cowboys skill players, including quarterback Dak Prescott, got together to work out over the last few months in Utah. During those workouts, they came up with a nickname that will not lower those expectations at all.
“Why can’t we be, you know? Just, yeah, let’s be the greatest offense there is. You’ve heard the greatest show on turf and all the other different nicknames. And so just in our trip in Utah, know, it’s something I guess I thought about in the time leading up to that and just kind of presented it to the guys in our trip. Each and every one of them, you know, loved it, are taking pride in it. And that’s as cool as anything is to watch them take pride in it and watch them talk about it and say it to each other. And it’s the way that we’ve been practicing. We’re just gonna keep pushing each other,” Prescott said.
When you combine that nickname, GOTI, with the fact that Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott wore a Super Bowl T-shirt when he arrived in Oxnard, California. Once again, the Cowboys are not shying away from high expectations this year. They believe they can contend right now, and they should be back in the playoffs for the first time since 2023.
Offensive lineman Tyler Guyton won the Cowboys’ starting left tackle job in training camp after a very short competition with Nate Thomas and Tyler Smith, meaning the Cowboys return all 11 offensive starters. Guyton said he’s ready to be a force on this offense.
“Last year doesn’t define us this year. So we’re trying to rewrite the whole script. We got a new identity as far as our run game goes, pass game, and everything. So we are trying to find that now. But I definitely say we’re off to a good start,” Guyton said. “Fast, physical, violent, imposing our will on opponents.”
George Pickens contract situation
The offense led the NFL in total yards. A big reason was the breakout of star wide receiver George Pickens in his first season with the Cowboys. Now Pickens is back for year two on a one-year prove-it deal on the franchise tag, which has the star wideout motivated and ready to show that he can do it again.
“I feel like detail, that’s one thing Kobe Bryant used to always say: detail is always going to put you at least at the same standard or better. So I feel like when we’re in the meeting room, when we are out here, where we’re working out, detail is definitely one of the things we’ve been harping on,” Pickens said.
“(Pickens) knows what this year means for the team. He wants to contribute. He’s one of the best teammates I’ve been around. Just his energy, how he shows up for the team, just what he does. And so, yeah, he’s just taking another level, and that’s what you expect with a guy who loves the game like he does,” Prescott said.
Pickens was second-team All-Pro in his first season with the Cowboys. His ability to live up to that high standard once again is going to be a major factor this season.
For the first time in a long time, the Cowboys arrived at training camp without a contract dispute for a star player, something Pickens spoke about at one of the early practices in Oxnard.
“Not really for me, just for a lot of guys. I feel like whether you know him or not, or know his name or not, or know his number, and I feel like some guys are in the same situation that I am. So for a collective, I feel like we’re doing pretty good just putting one foot forward,” Pickens said.
His quarterback agrees.
“Yeah, I mean, I’ve seen it. I mean I’ve watched it. I’m watching them over there take notes and talk to young guys and yeah, be as locked in as I’ve ever seen it, and it’s already showing out there on the field,” Prescott said.
Pickens’ teammates and coaches say he has entered this training camp focused, coming off a fantastic season.
Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson reflects on recent wedding
Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson got married in June to former University of Miami basketball player Haley Cavinder.
“Yeah, getting married, best day of my life. But it’s been great. She’s been supporting me time throughout. Just getting my meals right. The sandwiches have been great, I attribute a lot of that to my body fat percentage going down. So yeah, it’s being great. And then coming out here with the guys playing football, it’s nothing better than that,” Ferguson said.
A few of Ferguson’s current and former teammates were involved in the wedding, including groomsman Dak Prescott.
Ferguson has started 48 games in four seasons with the Cowboys, racking up 231 catches, 2000+ yards and 15 touchdowns.
