Soul, Phantom Blade Zero's protagonist, in the announced Collector's Edition.Pre-orders for Phantom Blade Zero began last week, with the game scheduled to release in late October. Much has been said about whether a disc version is on the cards—especially following Sony's new anti-disc policies—and word on the grapevine brings glad tidings, potentially.
While hype for S-Game's upcoming Wuxia action-RPG, Phantom Blade Zero, heats up, a major point of discussion has been the availability of a PS5 disc version. New information indicates, however, that fans may have something positive to look forward to.
As shared on Reddit by u/Matth_Veyns—showing a screenshot claimed to be a conversation with a Play Asia representative—it appears Phantom Blade Zero could be set to get a physical disc release. In the shared image, the alleged customer rep clarifies that the game will get a physical release and a proper disc one as well; not just a download code, as GTA VI has been confirmed to be getting.
As a counterpoint, though, S-Game will be releasing a Collector's Edition of Phantom Blade Zero exclusively in China. This version of the game will cost CNY 1,199 (~$180) and will contain a model of the main character and a slew of other collectible items. Unfortunately, however, it will ship with a WeGame Digital Deluxe Edition activation code instead of a physical disc. That undoubtedly raises doubts over S-Game's plans for a disc release. Official confirmation on this will likely be revealed this week at the scheduled State of Play event.
