MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko will hold talks with President Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar, who is arriving in Belarus on 20 August for an official visit, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The main negotiation program at the head-of-state level is scheduled for Friday, 21 August. The presidents will discuss the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, with key areas outlined in the roadmap for 2026–2028. These primarily include cooperation in industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science, and education. The heads of state will consider concrete steps for the speedy practical implementation of previously agreed plans, as well as new mutually beneficial projects. Attention will also be paid to the interaction between Minsk and Naypyidaw on international platforms.

Following the talks, a number of documents aimed at strengthening Belarusian-Myanmar ties in trade, economic, scientific, technical, legal, and other areas are expected to be signed.

The upcoming official visit of Min Aung Hlaing confirms the active work Belarus is doing to develop relations both directly with Myanmar and with the countries of the Southeast Asian region in general.
