Virginia “Ginny” McCallie of Signal Mountain, Tennessee passed away peacefully and gracefully on August 8, 2026. She was 83.

Virginia was born in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee to Estill and Pearl Dill. She graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School in 1961. Virginia was the first female executive in the American Textile industry for Dixie Yarns Inc. in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she spent her entire career from the early 60’s until her retirement in 2016.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bryant J McCallie, Sr.; parents, Estill and Pearl Dill; brother, Johnny Dill.

She is survived by her son, Bryant J. McCallie, Jr.; sisters, Glenda (Tommy) Roe, Catherine (Rick) Nunley, Laura (Jim) Garner, Janet (Bill) Johnson and Paula (Dale) Taylor; several nieces and nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 12, 4-8 p.m., and Thursday, Aug. 13, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, followed by the service at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Brent Roe officiating. The interment will follow at Forrest Hills Cemetery in St. Elmo, Tennessee.
