Assumption University has selected Tier 2 of JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services as its new platform for preserving, managing, and sharing its digital collections.

Through JSTOR Stewardship, Assumption will gain an integrated environment for digital asset management, long-term preservation via Portico, and expanded discovery—including the ability to share materials on JSTOR for broader teaching and research use.

Assumption is engaging JSTOR’s professional migration services to transition content and metadata from Digital Commons into JSTOR Stewardship. The migration will include university archives and publications. Bringing these collections into Stewardship will support more sustainable stewardship while increasing visibility and impact.

“Assumption’s team has been very intentional about choosing a platform that will support sustainable, long-term stewardship of their collections,” said Jess Clemons, Director of Business Development, JSTOR Stewardship. “By moving to JSTOR Stewardship, they’re strengthening preservation, improving discovery, and making collections easier to use for students and researchers.”

“Migrating our archives into JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services means our collections will be preserved in a trusted environment, with a modern foundation for digital collections—without adding complexity for our staff,” said Vince Boisselle, Director of Library Services at Assumption University.

Founded in 1904, Assumption University is a comprehensive, private Catholic liberal arts institution, sponsored by the Augustinians of the Assumption. Located in Worcester, Massachusetts, it enrolls about 2,000 students and offers over 90 diverse major, minor, and dual degree programs
